Verdi Shakespeare Opera Selection (2006)

A collection of Shakespearean-themed Verdi operas. 'Otello' is a live 2001 recording from Teatro alla Scala, featuring performances by Placido Domingo, Barbara Frittoli and Leo Nucci. Riccardo Muti is the conductor. 'MacBeth' is a live recording from Zurich Opera House in 2001, with Thomas Hampson in the lead role and Franz Welser-Most conducting. Finally, Zubin Mehta is the conductor for this 2006 production of 'Falstaff', staged as part of his 70th birthday celebrations. Recorded live at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale, Florence, Ruggero Raimondi leads an all-star cast including Barbara Frittoli, Manuel Lanza, Danil Shtoda and Gianluca Floris.
