Synopsis:
Wolverhampton Wanderers is a club with history, a club that plays with pride, and a club that never quits. The 2013/14 season embodied each of those traits as Wolves dominated the league - not only securing promotion, but ending the season crowned as Champions, having notched up over 100 points. Kenny Jackett came to Wolves with a mission to secure promotion and restore some pride to Molineux. He did so in convincing fashion, rebuilding a team that played the kind of fast paced, enjoyable football that fans had been dreaming of. Drafting in Sam Ricketts as Captain proved to be an inspired move as he bolstered defence alongside the formidable Batth, Ebanks-Landell, and Golbourne.
It was this strength in defence that gave the likes of Dicko, Sako, and Griffiths the confidence to move forward and find the kind of free-scoring form that ultimately saw the season end with a tally of nearly 90 goals, 103 points, and the League One trophy.
