Edward Petherbridge stars as Lord Peter Wimsey in this classic adaptation of the novel by Dorothy L. Sayers.
Harriet Vane is invited to return to Shrewsbury College, Oxford for the Gaudy, a reunion of past students. She is asked by her old professors to turn her talents as a detective writer to practical use. Someone is terrorising the faculty and students of the college by sending vicious anonymous letters. Discretion is vital in order to maintain the reputation of the college.
With the help of Lord Peter, Harriet must act quickly as the incidents escalate from unpleasant letters to vandalism and threats.
