Saw this in the cinema and can't remember the last time I enjoyed a film as much. It's funnier than I was expecting, also exciting, scary, surreal, it's got proper baddies and a banging car chase at the end. I think I wanted to watch it again on DVD to check that it was as good as I remembered (it was!). The only film I could think of that could match it in terms of sheer cinematic enjoyment was Pulp Fiction, but that film isn't about anything but itself - One battle is actually about something: resistance, protest, somehow standing (however ineffectually) against a sinister state. Very glad to see it was covered in awards - it deserved it!
Couldn't see the point of this. The actual Sopranos series - of which I am a big fan - did all of this already, much better. This just re-works any number of gangster cliches, all fairly unpleasant and pointless. The attempts to create recognisable 'early versions' of Sopranos characters - oh look he's got big specs, that's Junior, or ooh look he's got a quiff, it's Silv - is cheesy. Avoid!
