Babylon

Unrealistic and self-indulgent.

(Edit) 25/06/2023

From the OTT, crude scenes and boring, repetitive use of the f-word (its overuse makes it meaningless, in this and many other films), this is an unrealistic (for the period) film.

Agatha and the Midnight Murders

Disappointing

(Edit) 16/03/2021

Poor story with unconvincing acting. The modern language (swearing) was inappropriate for the period

Long Shot

Lazily written "comedy"

(Edit) 22/09/2019

Disappointed - good story, could have been so much better. Why do so many films, featuring "smart" people, have such a limited vocabulary (lazy writing with overuse of the f-word for "comedy")?

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Arthur meets 21st century Eastenders

(Edit) 04/02/2018

Arthur meets the 21st century Eastenders. Complete trashing of the story, with inappropriate casting. It's a shame, as the big budget sets looks good.

La La Land

Disappointing

(Edit) 19/11/2017

After all the hype from the so-called film critics, I was extremely disappointed with this film. The two leads (particularly Gosling) have poor vocals and can do only basic dancing which just doesn't flow. The supporting cast wasn't too good either, with inappropriate dubbing. Has Hollywood forgotten how to make a good musical?
