The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan

Very enjoyable

(Edit) 19/11/2023

Seen so many three musketeers films over the years but this was easily the best.  Being in French (subtitles) was essential. The action is shot with great pace and excitement.  There are no corny bits. The grime of the times comes through. Presented as ‘part one’ I relish the ‘part two sequel’. Again as with these blu ray films do try and watch on the best sound system you can as the sound is quite something especially in the latter cathedral marriage scenes.

The Prey

Really enjoyed this film - quite a story

(Edit) 01/01/2023

This is quite a film. Five star rating in my book.  You can hardly take your eyes off the screen for fear of missing something. It has some violence and bad language but not to excess and appropriate to the scene.

As the film progressed my wife and I said time and again this film is quite something. Only the French could make film like this.

The Best Years of Our Lives

Great film

(Edit) 08/11/2020

This is a ‘proper’ film. Really enjoyed end to end. Fascinating also to see US post war. It’s in black and white but that adds to the authenticity. Perhaps you have to be of a certain age to enjoy these classics. No swear words just a good story.

The Cruel Sea

excellent field much enjoyed

(Edit) 29/05/2020

Said to be one of the greatest films to come out of WW2. We agree. Obviously CDI not available back then but includes real footage at times and plays well as disc quality to screen.  A 'proper film'.
