Tenet

Protracted and at times silly plot

(Edit) 29/07/2021

Protracted and at times silly plot, which isn't worth the effort it takes to follow the story. But slick and enjoyable enough

36 Chambers of Shaolin: The Final Confrontation

Great film - bad copy

(Edit) 10/06/2020

The DVD is a poor quality TV 4:3 cropped version of the original, with a bad film transfer and dubbed so badly that it becomes a comedy. It's an insult to the original and should not be available on release.

The Unbelievers

Dull propaganda film. Find something better to do with your time.

Dull propaganda film. Find something better to do with your time.

This film is just a series of scenes watching Richard Dawkins and Laurence Krauss going on a lecture tour. The film makes no attempt to shape an argument, or discuss the topic deeply. Neither do the protagonists. It's just a rant. It isn't helped by how both Richard and Laurence come across as caustic. It's a shame, as there is a need for a good film on this topic.

High-Rise

Don't Bother

(Edit) 23/02/2017

Don't let the superb production design and cinematography lull you into thinking this film is worth watching, it isn't

David Brent: Life on the Road

I don't know why this film was made

(Edit) 23/02/2017

The simplistic but worthwhile character study of David Brent is the only reason to watch this film. The rest is embarrassingly bad. It's the sort of film that you could skip through most of it and it would make no difference.
