Nikita

the original

(Edit) 10/04/2006

brilliant better that any american 'hollywood version.

Edgy, violent, aggressive (and they are different) and spellbinding.

A wonderful night in with a bottle of wine and good chats afterwards.

The Last Mitterrand

A Film made by the French.

(Edit) 10/06/2006

An excellent film with one drawback. The knowledge of French history and politics needed to be reasonable and have some depth. This difficulty for a non French person also made the film better. It is a French film about a complex interesting and surprising French politician and man.

This Happy Breed

The play must have been great.

(Edit) 10/06/2006

As a film with the perspective of the 1920s through to the start of World War Two it is one of the best. It is an old film but in this case that is not a fault. Give the characters time they develop wonderfully and the main players are the best of English actors of the time. A brilliant Sunday afternoon film, sit back and enjoy.

Candy

a quirky film of a quirky brilliant book

(Edit) 08/01/2006

Saw it first time out, and although bits of it have dated and are "uncomfortable, in total a film for those that like the odd perspective on life. The start of human exploration in the 1960s.

Dancing at Lughnasa

a brilliant view of vastly different times

(Edit) 08/01/2006

Although of the 1930s it reflected some of the 1950s / 60s. A brilliant film that repays the thought the viewer puts into it manifold, and what a cast.

The Story of Sin

what a story

(Edit) 10/04/2006

a slow start and quite some time to get into thec characters but well worth it. the story slowly and beautifully unfolds leading you further into the darker depths of people's makeup. Brilliant...
