- Synopsis:
Emma and Antonio have been separated for about a year. Antonio lives alone as Emma has taken their children to live with her mother. One night the police are called by a neighbour who reports hearing gun shots. In a fast moving chain of events, A Perfect Day recounts the 24 hours up to this moment for characters leading their simple and yet unique lives: Camilla celebrates a birthday, Aris sits an exam, Emma loses her job, Valentina meets a boy, Elios wife discovers she is pregnant whilst he is on an election campaign trail, young Kevin is invited to a sumptuous party, Maia the teacher gets ready to meet her lover and Antonio sees his wife for the last time. Their stories overlap on the great, frenetic stage that is Rome, with simple gestures and words that sometimes change fate and lead towards tragedy. On this 'perfect day', Emma, Antonio, Mara, Aris, and Maia challenge the cards life has dealt them in an attempt to regain control of their lives.
