"The Abbott and Costello: TV Show" is timeless American humor, as fresh today as it was 40 years ago. All the classic routines which "the boys" performed on film, radio and stage, were captured in 1952-1953 for the new medium of television and delivered at the peak of their powers. The regular cast of characters, including Mr. Fields, Mike the Cop, Stinky, Bacciagalupe and Hillary, had worked with Bud and Lou on film and stage and each contributed memorably. These shows stand today as perhaps the finest surviving representation of the art and burlesque comedy.

Delighted at the prospect of being Mike The Cop's boss, Lou decides to run for Councilman. Bud coaches him on the fine points of kissing babies, using Bingo the chimp for practice. Now a seasoned politician, Lou holds a campaign rally in the park, explaining the Confusion Party ticket to his supporters. Then a bevy of crying beauties get big-hearted Lou to donate most of his clothes to their needy fathers in a burlesque finale.
Public Enemies
Two safecrackers and their molls move in next door to Bud and Lou. After a picture of Lou is mistakenly named master thief "Dapper Dan" in the papers, the gang recruits the boys for a warehouse heist. Chopper Coyle's girlfriend Fifi takes a liking to Lou, and it's almost fatal until Bud convinces the tough guys that Lou "acts so dumb, he's a genius!" A zany chase ensues in the warehouse when Lou's real identity is discovered.
From Bed to Worse
The Big American Seed Company is giving $1000 prize for the best home garden, and Bud convinces Lou it's easy money. Unfortunately, next door neighbour Bill Hart has the same idea, and open warfare develops. In a nutty parade of backyard slapstick, the boys blow up an obstinate stump, destroy an underground water pipe, and feud with Hart's trespassing chickens.
Car Trouble
Lou's heart is set on winning a new car in the Jeepers Creepers Baby Food Contest. He wins, but Bud tells him to sell the lemon after run-ins with Mike The Cop and an irate chauffer. They take the money to Flint, Michigan to buy another car, but on the return trip they're broke and must bum a meal from hoboes. Hiding a stolen chicken for the stewpot under his coat, Lou is forced by the Sheriff to do bird impressions, but they all sound like Agnes, the missing hen.
