Divorced crime reporter Dicte Svendsen (Iben Hjejle) lives with daughter Rose in her hometown of Aarhus with Bo, a photographer at the local news site where she is their leading crime reporter. As the third and final series begins, Dicte has quit her job, married Bo and intends to settle down and write a book. But when Bo travels to Lebanon on assignment, Dicte soon discovers that he has been kidnapped and held hostage for an impossible ransom. The journey Dicte must take, both physical and emotional, will test her to the core. She will make desperate demands of her biological father, discover a half-sister she never knew existed and learn more about her friends and associates than she could have imagined. There are unexpected and deadly turns of events including the return of Detective Wagner's wife, to help solve his unsolved case; murder in a hospital; a robbery born of blackmail; and alongside it all, Dicte's friends, her ex-husband and daughter with lives and dramas of their own.
