Funny Girl (2018)

Sheridan Smith stars in this live performance of the stage musical directed by Michael Mayer. Fanny Brice (Smith) is an aspiring actress living in New York in the early 1900s. She has the chance to realise her ambition of being on the stage when she meets and marries playboy and gambler Nick Arnstein (Darius Campbell) who introduces her to Florenz Ziegfeld (Nigel Barber). When Ziegfeld agrees to give Fanny a part in his Ziegfeld Follies revue, she becomes an instant hit with the audiences, but she soon finds out that being married to a professional gambler leads to all kinds of trouble and heartache.
