- Synopsis:
- Monte Walsh (Lee Marvin) and Chet Rollins (Jack Palance) have always lived the traditional cowboy lifestyle to the full, complete with shoot-outs and bar-room brawls, but are beginning to realize that old age is catching up with them. When Chet marries a widow, Monte considers settling down with his long-term girlfriend (Jeanne Moreau), a saloon hostess. However, when the past returns to haunt the two old cowboys, they find themselves being drawn back into the violent ways of the west.
