When Pannalal (Balraj Sahni) said this to Kidar he had come a long way from the set rules of sin and sancity. He had given his all at the altar of sacrifice. Holding himself responsible for Pannalals death, Kidar sacrificed all his happiness for the sake of Pannalals, family and his honour. In the process, he allowed Veena (Tanuja Samarth) whom he loved most to be drawn apart from him. Was this a sin? He did not let Maya (Achala Sachdev) known that she was now a widow. By this single act of lying, he had spared her a thousand sorrows. Was this a sin? He had robbed the mean and miserly Attrachand of some of his wealth and put that money to a nobel end. Was this a sin? If these acts of Kidar were sinful, then he was a sinner. - Actors:
