Synopsis:
This is the powerful documentary film exploring the truth behind the birth of the Beatles. The controversial twists and turns of the early Beatles story is told in a unique series of interviews featuring Pete Best. Pete's candid recollections of the birth of the Beatles are compared and contrasted the views of the insiders who worked with the Beatles in the studio and on the road. Original Beatles manager Alan Williams recalls his frustrations over losing the band to Brian Epstein. Beatles recording engineer Norman Smith in one of the last interviews given before his sad demise gave our cameras a unique new insight on the infamous and still contentious 'Love Me Do' recording sessions.
Session drummer Andy White adds to the controversy and gives a frank account of the times he was summoned to replace both Pete Best and Ringo Starr on Beatles recording sessions. Also featured is the Beatles long serving publicist Tony Barrow, originator of the phrase 'The Fab Four', who provides a unique insight into the excitement of being around the group as it wrote the pages of popular history.
