A young woman in a wedding dress takes refuge in a closed Irish bar, she trying to hide from three men, the groomsmen. She tells the proprietor the groomsmen are the reason she's not getting married today. As the two sit down, the bride proceeds to tell a story starting at another wedding, that of Hannah (Elizabeth Wautlet) and Wyatt (Orlin Pavlov), in Philadelphia. But her story focuses more on Chelsea (Heather Hemmens), the maid of honor and a doctor based in Bulgaria, and Pete (B.J. Britt), also a doctor and the childhood friend of Hannah's brother Danny (Jonathan Bennett), a gay baseball pitching coach. There is a third in that childhood best friendship, divorced Jackson (Tyler Hynes), the three of them who met in a summer camp. There was an immediate attraction between Chelsea and Pete, and a bumpy initial courtship between them before Chelsea had to go to the airport to head home, but not before at least exchanging contact information. They contemplated a relationship but distance and neither planning on moving for the other placed a wrinkle in their thoughts. But in some respects, the distance was the least of their worries as their respective parents, much different from themselves and much different from each other, looked to be a bigger problem, in addition for Chelsea a relationship with Pete meaning a relationship also with Danny and Jackson. Pete and Chelsea's relationship is only the start of the bride's story of why she is in the bar instead of at the church.
