The boy came to the mountain pasture to his parents for the summer holidays from the city, where he goes to school and lives in the house of his older sister. The aging parents, especially the father, want to leave their last child in the nomad camp. The city took the older children, they can no longer be brought back. Who will take over the farm, who will warm the parents in old age, who, finally, will become the spiritual heir of the large patriarchal family? Bakai (Muratbek Ryskulov), Kalyk's (Nasreddin Dubashev)'s father, is initially adamant in his determination to leave his son at home, in the mountains. Urum (Aliman Zhankorozova), the mother, turns out to be wiser and convinces her hot-tempered and quick-witted husband to let the youngest son go to the city as well.
