- On September 14th, 1953 Henry and Livia Emery moved their family from Chatham County in North Carolina to Compton, then a white neighboured in sunny, prosperous California. Part of the great migration from the Southern states where Africans first arrived in the US and set out to find new lives across the Northwest, Midwest, and California. "Them" is a dramatic TV series, influenced by horror, that tells the story of a family who moves to face a community of evil and a life of terror. The first season, set in the 1950’s see’s the family's idyllic home become ground zero where malevolent forces, next door and otherworldly, threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them.
