Myrl Redding (John Cusack), is a Wyoming horse trader with a strong belief in hard work and honesty. So when fellow rancher Henry Ballard abuses two of his horses and their Crow Indian caretaker, Redding wants justice. But in a time when the law isn't always in the hands of the officials, Redding's complaint escalates into a vigilante manhunt. Judge Tolliver (John Goodman) Proceeds over Myrl's trail, where it seems that justice may not be the only casualty.
