The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

What if it happened to me

(Edit) 12/10/2015

This cleverly produced film allows you to view the world from the one eyed perspective of a person who suffers from locked in syndrome.Moving and thought provoking. Makes you feel as if you would never grumble about the weather again.

My Best Fiend

Stranger than fiction

(Edit) 12/10/2015

If you are a fan of Werner Herzog and the wild-child Klaus Kinsky this documentary tells a unique story of two geniuses. It was good top understand their rexplosive relationship. I realy enjoyed it.

Ida

Had all the potential, but...

(Edit) 25/02/2015

I was disappointed with this best foreign film. It is a good story. I liked the idea of a black and white movie but sadly that turned into grey for me. The austere convent and bleak Polish landscapes reminded me of. ' A day in the life of Ivan Denisovitch' a 1970 film, but I was not as moved as the storyline foretold. A little too slow and not enough light and shade and I found myself watching the clock.

Boyhood

Novel idea but disappointing

(Edit) 25/02/2015

The main pleasure of the film is watching people change. Good acting, very good soundtrack and hats off to the cast for staying with it over 12 years but not a very riveting storyline. Somewhat disappointed.

Non-Stop

Another Good Liam Leeson movie

(Edit) 15/02/2015

Fast moving action thriller with Liam Neeson being both tough yet vulnerable.

Enjoyed the 'who dunnit' and the many red herrings.

Fun guessing who was the guilty party-was it the pilot, stewardess or even the air marshall.

Hidden

A frustrating film

(Edit) 07/01/2015

Great director and cast and intriguing story-line but I was not entertained by a film raising questions and not providing answers. Audience participation is really required to decide who, why, what, where and when. Novel, but not for me.

Amour

Perhaps for th e older audience

(Edit) 07/01/2015

Aptly named, this real life love story is suberbly acted by two main players and takes you on a very sad journey. Not for those who don't yet want exposure to the brutal reality of old age and illness and therefore may suit an older audience. I didn't find it depressing-just moving- just my cup of tea.
