Alright i know every one has been raving about this film but here is my take: Its got great sets and looks vistually very good. The down side is the story. Its basically very simple gradually you figure out what is happending during the film then you sit waiting for a twist or for it to really take of and get interesting but it never happens. Feels like a bit of a let down at the end with me asking 'is that it' over all a solid 3 out of 5.
Simple to sum up this film. Crap. Honestly its that bad. Plot is weak the science is really bad and the effects dont look real at all.
The waather man follows one guy on his discovery that life is life and you have to just get on with it. Its not great but an interesting watch. Gets a bit drifty in the middle. Its one of those films that makes you think i just need to get on with things and stop trying to make it how i wish it could be.
This is an interesting film as it has been fully endorsed by Tarantino. Its not bad just not ground breaking. It certainly is no where near as scary as its rated to be. I would say it should even have been a 15. It’s a basic plot but executed well. Americans get into a mucky underworld of torture and dodgy Europeans who keep it all quiet. If you’re an American this film would make you scared to leave your country. If like me your English you spend have the film thinking 'stupid yanks, keep your wits about you when traveling and this would not happen' Some gory scenes but not enough. Don’t believe the hype.
Excellent, funny media sendup at its best. If you liked The Day Today then you will really like this. The episode on drugs was the most funny. It was banned after its initial release so check it out...
Generally I did not find this film very engaging. No empathy for the main cast and quite a simple story line. In summery good for kids but offers little to anyone else.
This is not Terry Gilliams best work by far. To weird for its own good, some times uncomfortable. No real point or conclusion at the end. 1 star.
