This film was ruined for me because the sound level and clarity of the dialogue varied considerably. I defy anyone with very good hearing to be able to follow the story without subtitles. My finger was constantly on the volume button - turning it up to near maximum during some conversations, only to have my eardrums blasted by the soundtrack and noisy passages. I don't know why this film did not come with subtitles but their lack spoilt the film for me.
No subtitles - yet again. It was difficult to follow as it was but without subtitles, impossible. Abandoned. A waste of a rental.
No subtitles (again!) so difficult to follow but , for what I could make of it, it was a good (sort of) historical romp.
Indistinct dialogue and subtitles not available rendered this film difficult to engage with and therefore not enjoyable.
A really enjoyable performance by Casey Affleck. Good value for money too at two and a quarter hours. What's more, an American film without the usual compulsory happy ending. Pity about the over-use of bad language, especially the four letter expressions from the second girlfriend.
I mistakenly ordered this film, meaning to order the one released in 2016. Not sure what to make of this particular film. Anne Hathaway's character was weak and lacked credibility and the early storyline (which, granted, was a bit formulaic) switched to the supernatural. I think I would have preferred the formulaic version with the airline eventually getting its come-uppance. I didn't quite get my head around the ending and was left fairly unsatisfied.
