In Bruges

Pulp Fiction without the wit

(Edit) 24/10/2009

Sorry, yes it was well filmed, the acting was good and Bruges is a delightful and original backdrop, but to me it seemed rather a predictable immitation of a Tarrantino movie, with a bit of love interest to stop the gangsterism getting monotonous.

A Very Long Engagement

Not to forget WWI and smile

(Edit) 24/10/2009

This showed the harrowing and perhaps honest face of the 1914-18 war. It manged to balance the serious and horrifying images of the trenches with a light magical touch and a page turning plot. All achieved with exceptional cinamatography and production values... watch it!

Brilliant

(Edit) 24/10/2009

If you see just one Godard film, make it this one! Filmed well before the days he disappeared up his own backside. Beautifully shot, Great plot, brilliant acting...fascinating relationship best road movie ever. One of my top 10 films of all time!

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

Horrid racist film.

(Edit) 24/10/2009

Nothing funny about this film. Biggist joke seems to be how backward and uncouth Kazakhastanis are. Perhaps Baron cohen should look in the mirror and see a jew in his determination to laugh at antisemitism can be sickeningly racist himself.
