Awful. Don’t waste your time - Accidental Tourist review by MA

Spoiler Alert
16/11/2025

At the centre of this film is a good story, that of a couples' grief at the loss of their son. Unfortunately it is submerged beneath a mixture of bad  and very clunky dialogue (no one speaks to each other like that), irrelevant, unnecessary  or disappearing plot lines (Hurts weird family and Davis’ weird son, the dog that is so central in the first half disappears  in the second half of the film), plot twists that you can see a mile off,  no chemistry between any of the characters, odd cinematography (why do we see Davis’ legs so much?), curious direction (it can't decide if it's a comedy, a tragedy or a romance or what).

I haven’t read the book but I hope the book is better, but on the basis of this film I doubt it.
