Synopsis:
The Bluebell Railway was Britain's first standard gauge, passenger carrying, preserved railway. After 35 years, this outstanding line, set deep in the Mid-Sussex countryside is still at the forefront of the steam preservation movement. Beautifully restored stations are complemented by an unrivalled collection of steam locomotives, coaches and wagons. Many of these are seen in action up and down the line, while one of the world's most glamourous and luxurious trains is recreated in the Golden Arrow Pullman.
Behind the scenes, the programme explores the history and the current operation of the Railway, and there is also time to visit the National Trust properties at Sheffield Park and Wakehurst Place as well as many of the other attractions in the immediate area.
