Kung Fu films are generally set in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) or in early republican China (post 1911). The plot centres on the struggles between good and evil or nationalist struggles against foreign invaders, Shaolin disciples fighting the Manchu's and martial artists of the early republic fighting Japanese.
