This is the story of a boy Sunder (Govinda) a painter who doesn't believe in building castles in air, but struggles to make his dream a reality. He comes to the city for fame and stays with his three bachelor friends. In his quest for work he is offered a job painting billboards and hoarding sky scrappers, which he accepts and continues to pursue his dreams. Then he comes across Payal (Rani Mukherji), and forgetting all of his trials and tribulations he falls in love with her, but they are both confused and see the other as dumb. Payal has come to India to learn Bharatnatyam and her Guruji asks her to meet a dumb person; in order to be a proficient dancer you must learn how to express emotions without words. So she meets Sunder again and in the process reciprocates his love for her. The trauma arises when both can't confess that they are not dumb for fear of loosing each other, but there does come a turning point when the truth is revealed and then what happens? What do they do? How do they protect and save their love?
