- Not content to follow the path his father has set out for him, Patrick McCardle (Efron), may have finally discovered something he's passionate about when a chance meeting with a horse trainer leads to an unexpected opportunity ? to train and ride troubled hose Steeplechase in the prestigious Derby Cup. But along with the difficulties and challenged of training, Patrick must also deal with Randy Adams, the rich town bully and five-time Derby Champion who will stop at nothing to keep his title.
