Synopsis:
Shot down and badly injured over the Italian Alps during the Second World War, RAF pilot Richard Wilder (Michael Dennison) is rescued and nursed back to health by Alida (Valentina Cortesa), a beautiful young Italian girl. As she shares with him the local fables of The Class Mountain, they begin to fall hopelessly in love. Richard, a young, successful composer before the war, is enraptured not only by Alida but by her stories from which he writes an enchanting opera. Back home in England, Richard tries to resume life with his wife Anne (Dulcie Gray), but is still haunted by his time in Italy and by the lovely partisan girl who saved his life.
When his opera receives its premiere in Venice, he realises that il is Alida ho truly loves and wants to be with -but fate has one last cruel trick to play...

The Glass Mountain - The Glass Mountain review by JR

It was a great film and very memorable. A small problem with the sound, it was a bit tinny and reverberrating. I enjoyed it but listening was challenging. I love getting your films, they take me down a pleasurable memory lane. Thank you very much, I look forward to the next DVD. Jeni Roberts.
