- Synopsis:
The series depicts the social and family life of a boy in a typical African-American intercity family in Montgomery Alabama in the late 1960's. covering the ages of 12 through 17. The show's plot centers on Dean Williams (Elisha Williams), son of Bill (Dulé Hill) and Lillian (Saycon Sengbloh) Williams. Dean's Mother holds an accountant job for the Department of the Treasury, while his father is a music professor and part time musician. Dean also has an older brother, Bruce (Spence Moore II), and an older sister, Kim (Laura Kariuki). Many of Dean's friends and neighbors star prominently in his flashbacks, including his best friend Brad (Julian Lerner) and his longtime crush Kiesa (Milan). Storylines are told through Dean's reflections as an adult in his mid-30s.. - Actors:
