In order to comfort Chloé, his daughter-in-law whose cheating husband (his son) has just left her, Pierre shares with her a secret that's been haunting him for many years. Twenty years earlier, during a business trip to Hong Kong, Pierre, a married man with children, fell in love at first sight with Mathilde. They began a torrid affair. Each time their schedules allowed, they found themselves together in a hotel room. Until one day, when Mathilde suggested that they live together. His refusal caused them to break up. By telling Chloé this, Pierre wants to show her that it's better to abandon yourself to passion than to live in a union without love.
