Synopsis:
The Beach Boys were the most successful American pop group of the sixties producing a string of classic singles and albums. After a difficult period in the early seventies the original line-up of brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and long standing friend Al Jardine, regrouped in 1976 and released a new studio album 15 Big Ones. This video was originally made for American television following the release of that album.
It combines full live performances of their greatest hits from the Anaheim Stadium with band interviews and wonderful sequences including Dennis Wilson judging a beauty pageant, Carl Wilson flying a plane and Brian Wilson being arrested for violation of the surf code by the original Blues Brothers, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, in the guise of highway patrolmen. From the three Wilson brothers singing a song about their father to the full band harmonising with a gospel choir this video is full of gems but above all it is the five original Beach Boys performing fantastic versions of their best known songs.
