Parasite

Lives up to its name

(Edit) 18/11/2020

Fantastic and unusual story line, which totally gripped us right from the beginning.  It was very well acted and had us in fits of laughter throughout much of the film.  The film subtitles were excellent and not off putting at all (much better than normal subtitles which my wife relies on as she's deaf).  Would totally recommend this film as it's totally not what you expect!

The Lighthouse

Original but...

(Edit) 18/11/2020

Well acted with a very unusual storyline (I didn't know what to expect).  Cinematography was excellent but seems like it was more important than the story.  Just dull - not something I'd watch again.

1917

100% brilliant

(Edit) 18/11/2020

Really can't fault this.  Fabulous from beginning to end - it's one of those films that will be replayed and replayed over the next few decades...

A lot of thought has gone into each scene and it totally resonates with the viewer.  Cinematography is excellent and enhances the story line throughout.  The rewards speak for themselves.

A Star Is Born

Music to the ears

(Edit) 18/11/2020

Wow!

Fantastic music, superbly acted with very likeable and realistic characters dealing with their own personal problems in a modern day society.  Can Lady Gaga act ? Yes she can.  Can Bradley Cooper sing?  Yes he can.  Is there any screen chemistry between them - you betcha!  Loads  - and you get totally drawn into the ups and downs of a modern day relationship.

This film totally grabs you from beginning to end and deserves so much more credit.   Definitely something to watch time and time again...
