Harry Ross (Kenneth Gilman) is a handsome, successful stockbroker who becomes the prime suspect in a bizarre murder. One night, Harry catches a glimpse of a seductive red-headed woman near her window. He becomes so obsessed with her that he returns night after night to gaze at her. When he becomes frightened by his own strange behaviour, Harry consults Dr. Alixe Barnes (Dayle Haddon), a beautiful psychiatrist who tries desperately to help him deal with his growing obsession. Harry sneaks back to his dream woman once again but this time he witnesses a vicious murder.
Hunted by an unknown assailant and wanted by the police as a prime suspect, Harry discovers that the only way to prove his innocence is to find the murderer. With Dr. Barnes as his only ally, they become drawn together as they face increasing danger, bewildering clues and mistaken identities.
