Synopsis:
Eric (Chris Stafford) is a 17-year-old senior from Ohio who takes a summer job at a local amusement park. Working alongside his best gal pal Maggie (Tina Holmes), the two idle away the days until Eric meets Rod (Andersen Gabrych), a sexy and openly gay college student. Soon sparks fly and Eric must confront feelings he had long suppressed. A funny, entertaining and insightful coming-of-age tale, 'Edge of Seventeen' is enhanced by a great '80s soundtrack (including Bronski Beat and Eurythmics), terrific period design and a high-energy, upbeat tempo, making this an exciting and original take on growing up and finding love.

Good actors - average story - Edge of Seventeen review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
09/02/2008

Another movie about coming out, this time set in in Ohio(USA) where a teenager with a girlfriend over a summer finds out he does like the boys more than his girlfriend, but pressure from parents and friends is hard to deal with - not made easier by his appearance; he does really change into a Boy George-type, which seems a bit over the top, but the director may have had a reason. Of cousre, he is being abused by men who want "fresh meat" and he even manage to fall in love which is not reciprocated.

Good little film - Edge of Seventeen review by TB

This is a good little coming of age film about self discovery and the highs and lows of coming out as gay. The film captures really well the feeling of the main character questioning himself and his desires, worrying about what others think and stressing over the hurt and uncertain that’s caused along the way to discovering who he really is. A great soundtrack also!! Worth a watch.
