Great Gambon - Maigret: Series review by NB

The most rounded portrayal of Maigret, and I think the best. He's not a particularly likeable character in the books, but translation to the screen requires him to be more complex, and Michael Gambon achieves this well. Also it's good to get away from the tedious cliché of the alienated detective with a dysfunctional home life.

Was always a fan of Rupert Davies as Maigret but can’t find the early series. Gambon is great though and am loving watching them.
