- Synopsis:
- Jakarta, year 1965. The inexperienced Australian reporter Guy Hamilton (Mel Gibson) is presented with the opportunity of his life when he is sent as a special envoy to Indonesia. In the turbulent scene of the communist uprising against President Sukarno, he meets Billy Kwan (Hunt), an enigmatic photographer, and Jill Bryant (Weawer), an attractive woman working in the English embassy.
