Documentary series following the work of the staff of Skeldale Veterinary Centre in Thirsk, North Yorkshire - once the practice of James Herriot....Peter's called out to a cow with stomach problems, he calls in reinforcements from his new Grace Lane Practice. Julian has a surprise examining a pregnant dog. A frisky Shetland Pony and a lizard with a dead tail end are also treated...Julian races over to the llama trekking centre in the Dales, after one of the youngsters breaks his jaw in a freak accident. A goat with a painful foot condition is brought in to Peter. A bulldog is rushed in after eating some chewing gum... Peter Wright is feeling down in the dumps, but then meets his guardian angel who tries to persuade him just how important he is to others. Peter helps a Turkey that's been attacked by a dog, Julian returns a lost parrot and plays Santa...Peter faces a late night emergency as Abbie rushes in her sheep who is pregnant with triplets. The babies aren't due for another three weeks, but Peter must act quickly. Julian is preparing for the opening of his new veterinary centre...Peter rushes a pregnant husky into surgery, hoping he can deliver live puppies but fears he may be too late to save them all. A lamb with a badly broken leg arrives at the Thirsk practice. Matt treats Matilda, a very poorly cow...Peter tackles the most overgrown tortoise beak he's ever seen. Julian treats a Vizsla puppy that's eaten a washing up sponge for the 2nd time. David attends a ewe who has suffered a life-threatening prolapse. A donkey finds a new home... - Actors:
