- The Hurricane at War is a detailed film history of the Hawker Hurricane from the Hurricane I which accounted for the first kill of the war, to the Hurricane IV version which served with distinction against the Japanese in the Pacific. With its formidable armaments and superior handling characteristics, the Hurricane accounted for over two thirds of all enemy aircraft destroyed in the Battle Of Britain. Originally vectored against Luftwaffe bomber formations while Spitfire squadrons took on the fighter escorts, the Hurricane nevertheless proved itself more than capable with dealing with the ME 109 - and winning.
