Austrian doctor Karl Roder (Clive Brook) opposes the warmongering of the Nazi regime but his wife (Diana Wynyard) has no sympathy for her husband's views and accepts a post in Berlin working closely with the Fuhrer. With the help of a young engineer, Karl establishes 'Freedom Radio' an underground radio station. Karl becomes the voice of the station and of the internal resistance within Germany against the Nazi regime. With the help of his brave accomplices Roder even manages to sabotage one of Hitler's speeches at Nuremburg!! 'Freedom Radio' quickly comes to the attention of the Gestapo but with the invasion of Poland the German people, and Roder's wife, quickly realise he was right after all!! - Actors:

Of Much Academic Interest. - Freedom Radio review by NC
I guess there was very little room for subtlety in 1941. 'Freedom Radio' may be a flagrant, black-and-white tub-thumper, and, watched today, it suffers because of that, but no-one can deny the verity of its message nor its importance at the time. There is a reasonable cat-and-mouse thriller element, and a bit of fun catching familiar faces, some of them in their younger days (Joan Hickson, for instance); but the overriding interest is in seeing a good example of British wartime propaganda.
