Inspector Nardone is an authentic and straightforward Neapolitan, endowed with a strong moral code and a great sense of humour and humanity. After having previously exposed corrupt colleagues, Nardone is re-assigned to the Milan Police Department where he has to deal with a rapidly changing post-war crime scene. The rules have changed and Nardone must fight to restore law-and-order in the sophisticated and urbane Milan. A city which, nevertheless, Nardone loves unconditionally. Based on a real-life figure, Mario Nardone was a legend in Milan during the 50s and 60s.

- Inspector Nardone: Series review by AN
This is a charming, gently humorous, entirely non threatening Italian detective series. A contrast to the maverick Montelbano who reigns supreme, but highly re4commended

Nice sense of period but spoiled by poor dubbing of foreign actors
- Inspector Nardone: Series review by JH
As I speak Italian, I looked forward to watching a different Italian detective series but was very disappointed by Inspector Nardone. Although the main characters are Italian, many of the secondary characters are played by foreigners speaking their own language and dubbed into Italian. This is done very poorly, with no attempt to synchronise the speech with the mouth movements. It was so irritating that I just gave up and 'lost the plot'.
