Disappearance at Clifton Hill

Hard going.

(Edit) 09/12/2021

Very slow and got bored half way through. It takes some imagination to work out but end was a bit of a twist.

Dolittle

Easy watching.

(Edit) 01/12/2021

Quite a predictable script but funny, well acted and animated animals just brilliant. Non offensive and voice overs fit the characters well.

Storm Boy

This is a very unusual story but very compelling.

(Edit) 26/10/2021

Very touching story with beautiful scenery.  Leaves you feeling very reflective on life in general. The Pelicans are marvellous but Mr Percival steals your heart. Superb acting throughout.

Jojo Rabbit

Pleasantly surprised.

(Edit) 01/10/2021

I thought this would be one of those high profile, highly rated profile films that would not be to my taste but the family wanted to see so I ordered it. How wrong could I be. It was captivating, funny, sad. To the British, war was so one sided but this makes you think about other nations involved and the devastation war brings on every person and most importantly, the children. Well acted and well directed.

Mary Queen of Scots

Brilliantly done.

(Edit) 24/08/2021

It certainly questions historical facts but one has to be reminded it is also a drama and open to interpretation. Excellent acting and although the question goes unanswered to whether Mary Queen of Scots did actually have a Scottish accent due to the fact she was brought up in France, I suppose it reminds us all that she was legitimately the rightful Queen on the throne. In fact the Stuarts had more claims to it than the Tudors but the film is very entertaining as long as you don’t want a history lesson.

The Lobster

Rubbish.

(Edit) 21/04/2021

Tried to watch this absolutely terrible film. Acting terrible and sound track poor quality. Story weak.

Lost in London

Different?

(Edit) 16/06/2020

Gave up half way. States it is a comedy and a totally different in film making. Well, certainly is. Family like me thought it was a load of rubbish. Weak story line and almost felt sorry for the actors.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Brilliantly performed.

(Edit) 21/02/2019

Not sure at first if to continue watching but so glad I did. It touched on humanity and everyone deserves a chance regardless of past history. Just takes a brave soul to be up for the challenge. Great acting throughout. Such a change from the usual run of the mill politically correct film and with a sense of humour throughout.

Ghost Team

Slow and boring.

(Edit) 26/06/2018

Not a very original plot to this film. At times hard to hear what the actors were saying. It did not feel as if the plot was going anywhere and some of the characters did not appear to have much of a script and I felt they were adlibbing to remain part of the storyline. In all, the film was amateurish and I have seen better home videos to entertain me and my family. We all agreed this film was rubbish.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Enjoyed every minute of it.

(Edit) 21/03/2018

Very good film but at times did wonder if there was too prolonged fighting. Did enjoy it though and hope there is a follow up to it.
