A successful car dealer finds himself strangely attracted to his new rather plain temporary secretary. She feels the same attraction and soon they embark on a passionate affair. His beautiful, sophisticated wife has overlooked his previous casual affairs, but this time she senses it is different and cannot dismiss it so easily.

The story jumps back and forwards in chronology so it's confusing at times to figure out what is going on when. Sometimes it's absurd if not bizarre and other times funny - maybe unintentionally. However, if you like the music of Franz Schubert you can enjoy the film from that point of view...
