- Synopsis:
- Edinburgh, 1810. Two teachers find themselves at the heart of a scandal when a wealthy aristocrat enrolls her 15-year-old "illegitimate" granddaughter, recently arrived from India, in their boarding school. Isolated, Jane Cumming (Mia Tharia) makes an accusation whose consequences will shatter the lives of all the women. They must then confront prejudice and defend their reputations. Their legal battle will last for years and cause a scandal in Scottish high society.
