This drama about two brothers and their struggle with drug addiction is directed and co-written by James Franco, who also stars. Brothers Adam (Matt Bell) and Max (Franco) are both sharp, intelligent men. Adam, the eldest, is focused on his budding career as a surgeon, while unemployed drifter Max is fast becoming addicted to cocaine and crystal meth. As time goes by, work stresses also lead to Adam developing a prescription drugs habit. After a drugs deal goes badly wrong, Max decides to run away California, and persuades Adam to accompany him.
