When her widowed father encounters financial trouble, young Sara Stanley is sent to live with relatives on rustic Prince Edward Island. At first she is unhappy as she adjusts to rural life and the antics of her jealous cousins. Sara proves to be feisty and resilient and is soon the centre of mischief and adventure in Avonlea.
Based on the children's classic 'Anne' by Lucy Maud Montgomery about the adventures of Sara Stanley and her cousins. Features three episodes plus a bonus 'The Materialising Of Duncan McTavish'.
