- ‘The Knick’ is an American medical drama TV series created by Michael Begler and Jack Amiel, starring Clive Owen as Dr. John W. Thackery, André Holland as Dr. Algernon Edwards and Grainger Hines as Captain August Robertson among others. The show, directed by Steven Soderbergh, depicts the fictionalized Knickerbocker Hospital and the staff’s greatest efforts to save patients’ lives, during the beginning of the twentieth century.
