A quick Doinel check-in at 17: all elbows, yearning, and romantic plans drafted in pencil.
Colette is warmer than she needs to be, which somehow makes the rebuff sting more. Truffaut keeps it breezy—little scenes that land like postcards, with a concert crush and a lot of hopeful loitering.
As a lead-in to Stolen Kisses it’s charmingly incomplete: you’re left wanting the next chapter, and quietly betting Antoine still won’t learn a thing.
