"Primetime" is a disturbing look at one of television's most infamous shows, "To Catch A Predator". Less a character study than an exploration of intoxicating greed and self righteousness, it features another phenomenal performance from Robert Pattinson as a fully possessed Chris Hansen, while Skyler Gisondo's sympathetic eyes and innate humanity embody the growing moral complications of what the tv crew is ultimately doing. An entertaining beginning, a sluggish middle, with a devastatingly ironic ending. The pacing is messy, and I believe the documentary "Predators" examined this material with far greater depth and emotional impact, but Lance Oppenheim's inspired direction still makes this an engrossing watch.
