The year is 2013. Prisons are overflowing across the world and funding runs low. As an experiment, a group of prisoners are shipped to a far-flung, freezing island in the North Sea and allowed to settle, to colonise it. They find themselves dropped with a pile of numbered keys that can be used to unlock their chains. At once, they break free and retreat to a safe distance apart but it isn't long before all Hell breaks loose. Uncontrolled acts of murderous violence become commonplace. A kingpin emerges and, with the help of his followers, a new prison is created where punishment is fatal and rules, like bones, are made to be broken. For anyone who tries to resist this barbarian regime, the island presents a desperate fight for survival. Can the human spirit conquer the animal urge for carnage or will death and violence prevail in a world where "Last Means Dead"?
